Hello! I see that you are the creator of the Semiotic Hierarchy Extension in Tableau. I’m currently using it but I’m having issues with filtering. When I add some filter to the dashboard, the semiotic hierarchy won’t filter unless I click on Reload but there is no option reload the visual when it is published to the server. Can you please help? Thanks!
May i ask if the digital humanities could be a career path for a philologist to follow??
Amazing!
I am curious as to why it is more expensive to travel by foot than to pay for a passage on a ship? The ship option is saying 120 denarii for a passenger in a carriage and only 1 denarii for a donkey. I'm just confused what this means. Why its it saying it costs 900 denarii to travel by foot (which costs nothing except for food and shelter along the way) ?
why the one out there on the edge, just staying there?
Woah, what's this ??? Amazing!
Very cool Eli !
Interesting explation
Hi ..love form India
nice and expect more
" I used the word disruption, I shouldn't have..." Why not?
Perfect introduction!
When you introduce someone, ask them before the presentation how to pronounce their name. It's just nice to look like you care rather than having it come off as an afterthought :)
Nicht empfohlen zu studieren, wenn man einen Job später haben will ... mit dem Abschluss kannst nichts anfangen keiner kennt keine zugeschnittenen Stellen ... man hat viele Themen jedoch keine Spiritualität
if you look into Doom, text isn't inside span, so style property should be applied to parent div like @Vikky said
Where is the rest of the presentation?
Really wonderful presentation of the topic!
Hey Elijah, thanks for the video, can you tell please is there any way to change for each line lineType and interpolator?
*when you still don't know what digital humanities is after this* 0_0...
I thought I was the only one... :'D
I don't think that the "experts" themselves really understood what DH are. In Germany, DH is also a kind of trend now but the only serious people I met speaking about it are people with a STEM- or CS-degree working in a DH-department for some reason. In a DH department you are not even supposed to learn coding properly or to learn math, statistics and so on (at least in Germany). In my opinion, DH could be a good idea but, for now, the experiment failed completely.
@@franzbiberkopf9179 umm what do you mean by the experiment failed completely? i dont understand can you tell me?
MEn you are awesome ! I'm frenhc, I try to work to Digital Humanity for the university, you save my life with you introduction "What is digital humanity? " And When I go to your YT channel you do something with Pokemon, I'm a big Fan of this! Thanks you for this jobs !!
Hey elijah meeks you need to add the textTransform to div with legendItems.
This is so great stuff! Thank you for making Semiotic and these vids
Thanks, Joel!
Thanks so much for a fantastic lecture. Are the other three lectures online, and if so where can one get those videos?
Wow! Thanks! But I'll go by bus.
The ORBIS geospatial portal is just amazing as an education tool.
I have just started to research about the field of digital humanities and I popped up with a question that by providing people who live in developing countries to learn about digital humanities , would we able to deal with a polarization of knowledge and wealth between developed and developing countries! what is your opinion about this question? Thank you~
Thanking you for your upload.
Absolutely brilliant.
Does ORBIS factor in sleep and breaks? Is the time it takes to get from one place to another presented as travel time only, or the amount of time it would take if you were to actually make the trip in the real world? If it's travel time and not real-time, then it shows that human walking speed is 0.83 mph (18 miles in a day). Surely that can't be accurate.
would be appreciated if explained what this graph actually mean ....
Cool, is there a live version?
Well, I like it...
The curving of the lines and the change in the height of the cities is purely for legibility's sake. There is not data-driven aspect to either of these features of the timeline.
